Course Details

This course is ideal if you want to develop your knowledge of business and law in an international context. Your learning will enable you to perform effectively in the development and implementation of international business strategy, which in turn will greatly enhance your employability. You’ll also become skilled at working alone and with teams to systematically and creatively apply theory and practical solutions that resolve international business problems.

Strategic International Business Management
You will gain a thorough grounding in the major issues and perspectives of management, with a particular focus on strategic, global and organisational issues in an international context. You will be encouraged to think critically about theory and practice in an ethical and professional manner.
International Business Law
You will develop an understanding of legal issues in the context of international business activity, and gain a sound understanding of how the law is applicable to agreements and their negotiation. You will and critically analyse the complexity, effectiveness and impact of Private and Public International Law on the regulation of international business transactions.
International Financial Management
You will examine exchange, inflation, interest rates and other factors which impact on the performance of firms and assess the significance of decision-making in a global context. You will also evaluate the principles and practices that guide the financial management of multinational enterprise. This module also places an emphasis on the differences between multinational and domestic financial management.
Marketing International Business: Branding, Communication and Relationships
This module will help you focus your understanding of a variety of communication methods used to establish and maintain cross-cultural business relationships with a variety of stakeholders. You will gain an overview of culture as a basis on which to develop international branding, marketing communications and business relationship development. These themes are particularly important in today’s global economy.
Business Innovation Project
Dissertation: a conventional dissertation of 12,000 to 15,000 words, consisting of research question, aims and objectives, rationale for undertaking the study, literature review, research methodology, analysis of findings, conclusions and recommendations.

Delivery Method

Blended learning mostly online via OnlineCampus (an interactive online learning environment) with intensive class discussion and collaboration, plus a one-week compulsory residency. The residency will be held in Salford or Zürich, Switzerland.

Tuition Fees

10,000 CHF (Swiss Francs, approximately 10345 US$ / 8732 € / 7681 £). This includes library access, OnlineCampus access, graduation fees, and University of Salford matriculation fees. Fees are payable in interest free instalments over 12 months, however, the programme is not eligible for UK Postgraduate Loans for Master’s Study. The fees are for the entire programme, and include all the courses as well as supervision for the final innovation project.

The Residency costs, such as airfare and accomodation, plus a 2000 CHF (Swiss Francs, approximately 2069 US$ / 1746 € / 1536 £) tuition fee for the residency, and some of the textbooks that you will need for the course are not included in these fees.

Admission Requirements

Normally a minimum 2:2 honours degree or equivalent.

A wide range of professional qualifications are also accepted either in partial or complete fulfilment of entry requirements.

We welcome applications from students who may not have formal/traditional entry criteria but who have relevant experience or the ability to pursue the course successfully.
